Disclaimer on National Governance of Chi Nei Tsang

Please note that currently there is no state or national governmental agency in the USA that governs the professional licensing of Chi Nei Tsang practitioners. The American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicineare the organizations that have set the Approved Standards for Asian Bodywork Training in the USA.

After completing Aroma Apothecary Healing Arts Academy’s certification requirements, students must submit their case studies and take a practical test ($50 testing fee) by the Chi Nei Tsang Committee. These tests are given internationally, and may be given by Shanti Dechen in Crestone, CO or Austin, TX. The case studies, test and $50 are presented to the Universal Healing Tao. The student is then recognized by the Universal Healing Tao as a Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 practitioner or instructor (additional requirements).

Aroma Apothecary Healing Arts Academy’s current program meets the Asian Bodywork Core Curriculum requirements for AOBTA Certification; however, additional hours are needed in Oriental Medical Theory, Anatomy and Physiology, and other related subjects to meet the necessary 500 hours.

Founded in 1989, the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) is a national non-profit professional association for practitioners of bodywork therapies of Asia. Chi Nei Tsang is one of their recognized Asian bodywork styles that meet their membership requirements. For more information, visit the AOBTA website at aobta.org.

Chi Nei Tsang is an Asian Bodywork Therapy that is formally recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The Asian Bodywork Therapy certificate exam stands equal with the practices of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and as one of the three delivery systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For more information, visit the NCCAOM website at nccaom.org
