Autumn has arrived with its brilliant colors, crisp air, cozy sweaters, and firelight. It is the season of harvest and the time when Mother Nature prepares for a long winter’s rest. This is true for us as well; a season of turning within as the nights become longer than the days.

Autumn is also a time when family and friends join us in our homes. The aromas of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg bring about beautiful memories and good feelings and are almost synonymous with this time of year. Using an essential oil spritzer made with simple ingredients is a really great way to add these lovely scents to your home during this season.

Try these blends below to enliven your environment with Autumn aromas. In a 2-4oz. glass spray bottle add: * 1 tablespoon Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) * Add the essential oil blend * Shake, and then add water.

Roll the bottle between your palms or gently shake it to combine the ingredients. You can use these spritzers in the corners of your home or office, your car, closets, or in the shower before you step in.

Fall Harvest Blend 7 drops Orange (Citrus sinensis) 4 drops Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) 3 drops Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)

Forest Walk Blend 3 drops each: Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)

Cozy Night Blend 6 drops Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) 3 drops Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) 3 drops White Fir (Abies alba) 3 drops Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)

These blends can also be added to a diffuser or a small pot of water left on the stove to steam and release the scent into the room gently.

Using any of these blends will give you the added bonus of helping to keep your space free of bacteria and viruses. Whether you’re having a gathering or just snuggling up with a good book, use a spritzer for added warmth, peace, and joy, and evoke beautiful memories of seasons past. Enjoy a peaceful and healthy Autumn!
