A Different Perspective

A significant change is happening around us, can you feel it? The World, as we once knew it will never be the same. I have seen the statement floating around our digital World lately with the wish for “things to go back to normal…” but “normal” wasn’t working. Our “normal” was an imbalanced system that we were forced to race through, resulting in an overworked, overstressed, overwhelmed, unhealthy society, and an unhealthy Earth. Maybe not everyone noticed or felt this, yet we all experienced imbalance one way or another, undeniably it was there. Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher, states, “Change is the only truth in the Universe.” We must be open to change, to evolve, to grow. If we continue

Spring is Here!

Hooray, springtime is here! March 19th welcomes a beautiful full moon and spring equinox for the Northern Hemisphere (autumn equinox for the Southern Hemisphere). This is a time of birth and fresh beginning stages of more outward expression of expansive energy, moving out in all directions. It is the time when we are moved to spend more time outdoors once again in the freshness of a spring morning. Warmth and light begin to return; the soil is moist with the winter melt; the days are now longer than the nights. Seeds that have laid dormant under the earth all winter push up through the ground as sprouts and when the buds come out on the trees and turn into young green leaves. This

The Majestic Seed

As we were planting our botanical garden for the year, I started contemplating the majestic seed. All plants come from this basic life seed structure that is truly magnificent. I am amazed at the diversity in the seed individuality of different plants and the process they go through in becoming plants. The basics that seeds need to germinate and sprout in the ground: Nutrient-rich soil. Water to sprout and grow. Sun (warmth and light) to flourish. To find out if seeds are viable, you can sprout them first. Start by soaking the seeds in filtered or purified water for 8-12 hours, filter off the water, and then leave in a dark warm environment. Rinse with purified water daily until they sprout

Reduce Spring Allergies Naturally

The springtime environment naturally brings more rain and wind; this increases the pollen in the plants and trees, which is vital in nature’s cycle. The pollen needs to move to the female part (pistil) of the plant so it can create seeds and fruits. Unfortunately, this can increase allergies for humans and can make life uncomfortable. Fortunately, you can find relief from natural remedies. Tips for Reducing Allergies Naturally: 1) Strengthen your immune system; reduce your stress, get plenty of rest and sleep, eat a healthy diet full of fruits, vegetables, protein, and nuts. Increase your water intake. Reduce your consumption of sugar, dairy, bread, and processed foods as these can produce

Turning Chaos into Calm

What if your body is already designed to help you stay balanced and peaceful in this chaotic world? Tapping into the power of your vagus nerve will assist in reducing stress, anxiety, anger, and inflammation by activating the "relaxation response" of your parasympathetic nervous system. The vagus nerve, also called the CNX cranial nerve or 10th nerve is the most extended and most complex of all of the cranial nerves. The vagus nerve runs from the brain through the face, thorax, and abdomen.Imagine the vagus nerve, which begins at your brain stem, and continues down to the abdomen, transmitting sensory messages of your ears, throat, lungs, heart, and digestive tract. This wandering vagus nerv

Aromatherapy Hand Sanitizer

For many years now, I have formulated and used aromatherapy hand sanitizer. I carry a bottle in my purse, car, traveling, and other public places I visit. It is so easy to carry in a pocket or purse and well worth the protection from bacteria, viruses, and other microbes. Start with a 1oz./ 30ml PET plastic bottle with a flip lid or a glass bottle. Formulating Steps: 1) Mix the essential oils and jojoba, then shake. 2) Top off the bottle with the 190 proof alcohol, shake well. Carrier Oils 20 mls 190 proof alcohol 10 mls organic jojoba oil (Simmondsia chinensis) Suggested 5% blend of Essential Oils for Healthy Adults. 10 drops Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) 10 drops Hyssop (Hyssopus offici
